Depending upon the size of your blender, you may want to double this recipe so there is enough ingredients to completely cover the blender blade, allowing a creamy texture.

Vegan Smokey Cashew Cream

- ½ cup raw cashew pieces
- ½ cup water
- 2 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
- Pinch cayenne or crushed red pepper flakes
- Place the cashews in a bowl with ample water to cover. Allow to sit for 20 minutes up to a few hours. Drain and rinse well. Transfer to a blender with the remaining ingredients, including the ½ cup water, and blend until creamy.
